Our member Shiva3D proudly posted a completed commercial animation that has all the elements of professionalism. Few stills included...
For those of you living in Russia, this may not be the first time you've heard of this: Rombouts Malongo. For the rest of us, Rombouts Malongo has an excellent first impression visually with thanks to Shiva's knowledge of 3D Studio MAX, RealFlow and ... We open on a center-lit blue field. In pieces, text of Rombouts Malongo and thier coat of arms logo falls past the camera and into place before our eyes. The camera moves in quietly and just as we get a look at details, Wham! All the elements melt into liquid metal.
The camera then begins a 10 second 360 degree spin looking down on the liquid that resolves itself into a single puddle. The camera lowers to look over the top of the puddle and up comes a cylindrical shape in the spirit of T2.
A rapid texture transformation brings the gold metal look of "Supremo Arabica into view within 2 fast seconds. We followed the cylinder upwards and now see it towering above us. At the highest angle of view, the logo is again centered in our view and a smart volume light traces the lines of the logo.
The passing light allows for the creation of a stand alone logo and the Rombouts Malongo text once more. The new elements face the camera directly as the can goes slightly out of focus - the camera is now moving up for an establishing shot of the product. With just one more texture change to go through, the newly arrived logo and text take on their true colors, move to the side, the can comes back into focus and we are left with this shot after a very complete 24 seconds.
I'm a little embarassed, because I have to guess that this is a coffee drink - not a beer - based on the word "arabica" which perks the taste buds of coffee drinkers like myself. What's not evident in this 'advertising roller' are the difficulties Shiva encountered. Where one scene went froma ten minute render to becoming more than one hour, we can't tell! That's what makes this work good to the last drop! You can download this and a few other examples of Shiva's commitment to animating research and quality from: http://shiva.3dk.org |
