Non-expert needs HELP w/audio in max9! Please!

Hi, I'm hoping someone out there can help me. This is related to my job & I can't fail at it.

I have to do maintanance on an avatar animation that was designed by a competitor (therefore, there is no way to ask questions of the original artist). I have only very basic skill levels in Max, and I've never added audio to anything.

The avatar has syncronised mouth movements with the audio. Soon I will be supplied with a new wav file, due to content changes from the customer. We are purchasing a plug-in to re-synch the mouth movements with the new audio, and my part will be to make it happen, then render an AVI to be pulled into Flash.

I've gone to the Curves Editor & have seen the wave file showing as a graph under the sound heading. I have NO CLUE of how to remove the existing wav file & how to replace it. Figuring out how to synch it is a whole new problem, but there's not much I can do about that until we get the plug-in.

Could someone please explain to me how to replace the audio in this animation? I appeal to your generosity; I really need help.

    thnx
Well if I understand you correctly all you have to do is go to the curve editor and right click on the wav file name (should have Waveform - yadda yadda yadda on it) and choose Properties and click on Choose Sound. Then just pick the right wav file and you're off :)
Easier would be if you render a .png-sequence in MAX, load it in AfterEffects or Premiere, add your sound file and write a wmv or mpeg, or flash or whatever...

Thats how we do it at work...
