3D Kingdom is launching new service - the materials-section. We plan to publish a monthly package of materials, but we need your assistance to get it realised. This first, August package is just a sample of 21 materials and should just be an impulse to get things started. The package can be easily installed and uninstalled with only few clicks. Now it up to you to submit your materials and help 3D Kingdom Community...

Downloading Textures was yesterday - 3D Kingdom.org has reached the future!

We are proud to announce grand opening of the

MATERIALS-SECTION

Normally you download textures, or you take your digital camera, go out and take some photos. When you have all of your pictures you start your copy of 3dsmax and put them together to some cool looking material. This takes a lot of time, and beginners in 3dsmax often have troubles to do it right, and they often forget that placing a bitmap in the diffuse slot is far away from being enough to get a good looking material. That is the reason why we will create a material-section.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could use all those materials ever made by anyone?

We think YES, and that is the reason why we will launch it.

Click here to download Material Pack August 2005We are planning to post a monthly package of materials that includes a .mat file and all the textures you need.

And the best thing is: The whole package can easily be installed and uninstalled as we post the various packages as .exe files.

All you have to do is to tell the little program where your copy of 3dsmax is installed. The rest is done automatically (works with max6 and max7; others were not tested yet). Cool, isn’t it?

As said before, we are planning to post a monthly package. Problem is that we, in fact only Eumel3d, can’t do the whole work on his own. That’s the reason why we ask YOU to submit some of your materials and help us to help you.

This first package should just be a sample of what could be possible if the whole community helps each other. Included are 21 materials that cover various things, from floor tiles to wood; just take a look at the picture!

DOWNLOAD MATERIALS (August 2005)

If you install this package you will find a new created material-library called

“3dk-materials-august05” in your 3dsmax/matlibs/ folder

Just open the material-editor, and select that material-library from the list and you are ready to use all the materials.
