Durring this server change period, Eumel3d completed the second part of an upcoming series of 3ds max tutorials which will blow your mind. In this part you'll learn how to model and texture the bell. For texturing, you'll have to do some pre-work in Photoshop...
Introduction
By now, you should know the reactor-basics, and you should be able to create some simple animations. What we want to do now is to create a small scene within 3dsmax using the what we learned so far. Take a look at the frame above:
Our goal is to learn how to create something similar to this. As you can find more than just one object in that animation, it needs alot of pre-work first. Okay, although reactor is necessary to create the animation, it is not the only thing that makes it look so good. Besides reactor, the modelling and the material editor both play a decisive role.
In this part of the tutorial I am going to explain how to model and texture the bell. Modelling is quite easy as it's just a splineobject with a lathe-modifyer. Texturing is not that easy, as you need to do some pre-work in photoshop.
